Okinawa Shisha
The legend of the Shisha (Shishi) dates back to the ancient Rulers of okinawa. This small statue, usually in pairs is said to ward off evil spirits. Indeed, most homes in okinawa have a pair of Shisha either at the entrance gates or mounted on the roof. It is fascinating to view them while on a visit to okinawa. Each Shisha is hand made and no two are alike.
